A statement following the Government’s announcement on changes to how A-Level and GCSE grades are being awarded this summer.
Denise Jelly, Principal of Barnsley Sixth Form College, said: “Alongside the Sixth Form Colleges Association, we are pleased that the government have listened and taken action. The decision to use teacher assessments for A-Level results, ensures each student achieves what they deserve. Our teachers know our students best and gave fair and reasoned grades to each one. It is right that the students’ results match their efforts and hard work, and ensure they can take the next steps into Higher Education or employment. The College will continue to support every one of our students, no matter what their results”
