Art students hit the capital

Our students have visited a range of London art galleries and museums to prepare for a project.

The A Level Art and Design students travelled south to carry out research in readiness for their Personal Investigation project.

Whilst in the capital, the students focused on fine art at the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Tate Britain, before switching their attention to graphic design at the Design Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

They also visited Buckingham Palace and saw other famous London landmarks.

Chinon Johnson, 17, said: “I’ve never been to London before or to many art galleries so the experience was new and exciting. The art was inspiring and it was amazing that I got to see famous works by artists such as Van Gogh.”
