This qualification provides you with an understanding of applied science practical techniques and applications. The subject explores the key topics that are important in biology, chemistry and physics. You will focus on the skills scientists use and the roles they perform in the scientific community. Through a combination of theoretical study and hands-on experience, you will develop the necessary knowledge and skills to support your progression to higher education.
OCR Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification in Applied Science (Extended Certificate).
Equivalent to one A Level in size, it is suitable for students looking to develop their applied knowledge and skills in Applied Science as part of a study programme alongside A Levels. This course will take two years to complete.

Average GCSE point score of 5 or above including GCSE Grade 5 in English Language, GCSE Grade 5 in Mathematics and GCSE Grade 55 in Science.
Our Sixth Form campus includes purpose-built laboratories where you will be taught through a mixture of teacher-led sessions, group activities, independent study and practical-based learning.
You will need access to a computer to complete work outside of lessons. A scientific calculator will be required.
