Following the latest lifting of some Covid-19 restrictions by the government from 17th May, the College has also updated its procedures.
Face coverings should still be worn when walking through the communal areas of the College. When sitting down in communal areas with social distancing, face coverings may be removed. Face coverings do not need to be worn in classrooms where social distancing is in place. Face coverings must still be worn in non-classroom settings such as workshops, salons and other commercial settings.
All other restrictions, such as the one-way systems, hand sanitation, and social distancing where possible in all areas, will remain the same.
All students and staff must continue to home test for Covid-19 every three-to-five days, twice a week. Each result must then be logged with the College and the NHS.
The College is keeping these measures in place to continue to ensure the safety of our staff and students, as infection rates in the wider Barnsley community remain above the national average, though falling, at the moment. We will continue to monitor the situation, as well as the government’s further guidance around restrictions in the coming weeks.
