Dear Student/Parent
Following the Government’s announcement on 22 February, we are developing plans for a phased reopening of on-site teaching from Monday 8th March.
Barnsley College has been routinely testing students and staff that have been on-site since January, and the capacity for asymptomatic testing will be expanded in line with the government guidance.
Our plans will include how to safely manage the testing of students when on campus across the week, this will determine how many students are on campus during this first week.
As throughout this pandemic, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students, their families, and our staff, and therefore a phased approach to reopening and mass testing is vital to keeping everyone safe, including the wider community in Barnsley itself.
Once on campus our timetables will continue as normal and we will have our staggered start times for Year 12 and Year 13 students. Further details will be provided on which students are expected back on which dates in due course.
We will also be continuing to enforce our Covid-safety measures for everyone, including the wearing of face coverings, social distancing, regular hand washing and one-way systems.
Thank you for your patience, I will be back in touch shortly
Best wishes
Denise
