Sixth Form students’ art exhibition makes a splash

Our A Level Fine Art students showcased their talents at the Sixth Form Art and Design exhibition.

The artwork on display encompassed a wide range of techniques and processes, with the work showing a range of key skills in drawing, painting, print, 3D, photography and digital processes.

Chloe Moulding, A Level Art and Design tutor awarded certificates to Emily Arnold for the most Inspirational Creator Award, Emma Robinson for Determination Award and Lexy O’Connor for Excellence Award.

Kelly Rinaldi, Principal at Barnsley Sixth Form College, was invited to the exhibition to judge the students’ work and award the principal’s certificate for the best. She was extremely impressed by all of the students’ work but narrowed it down to one piece of artwork that resonated with her the most, the Overall winner, Emily Arnold. The students received a box of chocolates plus a College certificate.

Chloe said: “The exhibition opening night was fantastic, it showcased the exceptional abilities of our 2024 A Level Fine Art students. Their hard work and commitment to their studies over the last two years made the night one to remember.  It was lovely to see the support from the friends and family of the students and staff members from Barnsley College all around, taking in each piece of artwork and really immersing themselves into the projects.”
